PROG MEDIA SERVER
another great release from The Pitbull by Scaistar

With this function you can use Skystar 2 to view TV inside a network LAN.
This means that can purchase one only Sat card at home and view TV in more rooms. Or in office can use only one PC to allow all employees to follow Olympiads (don't tell this to your Boss :-).
If you have a notebook with a wireless card you can go around the house with satellite.

Imagine a network like this:

PC SERVER

- Windows XP MEDIA CENTER SP2,
- PC with motherboard ASUS A7V600
- network card on-board 3COM 10/100, IP static 192.168.0.1
- Skystar 2 2.3P IP static 192.268.238.238

PC CLIENT

- Windows XP HOME,
- Notebook ASUS L3350M
- network card on-board SIS 900, IP static 192.168.0.5

The 2 PC are connected without Hub-Switch (directly with cross-over cable).
ProgDVB version used for this guide is 4.56.

N.B.: In previous ProgDVB mechanism is different. Old module BROADCAST SERVER has been replaced by PROG MEDIA SERVER. Old versions users can consult HERE old guide.

It's very important to make sure to have all permissions, plan the network for access in writing and reading. To do this, from the computer CLIENT navigate up to the server and, for example, create a new text file in the ProgDVB folder, and save it. If you can do then this the rights are correctly planned.
